Rebekah Anderson's debut novel, "The Grand Promise" was released by Empty Bowl Press in 2022. Published on June 1, the 80th anniversary of the Grand Coulee Dam, the book is a work of literary fiction inspired by her family history and imagines the experiences of real Eastern Washington communities that were impacted by the dam's construction on the Columbia River during the 1930’s. Called “a gripping debut” by best-selling author Jonathan Evison, "a story both intimate and epic" by Boise writer Alan Heathcock, and "an intimate family story of conflict and redemption" by Spokane author and Spokesman Review writer, Shawn Vestal,  "The Grand Promise" was the #1 fiction bestseller at Small Press Distribution in its release month.
