LaRae Wiley is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes. She is a proud grandmother of five grandchildren and is one of the new fluent speakers of the highly endangered Colville language. LaRae is the Executive Director and a founder of Salish School of Spokane. Salish School of Spokane is a non-profit organization that operates a Salish immersion childcare/preschool center, a Salish immersion private Elementary school, a Native Youth Empowerment program for grades 9-12, a Salish language teacher training program and community Salish language classes.
