Jill Herrera is from Whidbey Island and calls Spokane, Washington home after a decade living in Lilac City. By day she can be found writing grants like a word-producing machine, and the rest of the time you will find her writing essays on fungi, sex, humans, and yoga, in that order. She holds her MFA in creative nonfiction from EWU close. In her non-writing life she teaches yoga and hunts mushrooms, wildflowers, and swimming holes for sport and sustenance.
