The Parent-Child Relationship in Fiction with Sindya BhanooThe parent-child relationship is complex and ever-evolving, rich with material that can be used to create and build powerful fiction. In this class, we will consider different stages of parenthood: pregnancy/adoption, infancy, childhood and adulthood. We will read and discuss short pieces and generate work. Although this class will focus on fiction, we will look at non-fiction as well, and discuss techniques that are applicable to both genres. You will come away from this class with four new story ideas.

Here is a note from Sindya: 1) If you can, please bring a photo you like of a parent or a child (any age, an adult child is fine) or a parent and child together. A digital version of the image will work.
2) Please also bring an interesting letter, postcard or e-mail that you've received, or one that you've inherited or found. If it's from a parent to a child or a child to a parent that would be great. If not, that's fine too.
